A fragment from the video #67 by Joost Rekveld (2017, 17 minutes). As a tribute to'Reminiscence' and 'Telc' by Steina and Woody Vasulka, this analog HD video work is guided by the concept of 'reafference', a term that refers to the perceptual changes that occur when we move our body. In #67, we take a stroll through the electromagnetic worlds of machines and humans, structured by the fundamental frequency of power lines and the analog video signal. More information here. This work was commissioned in 2017 by the LIMA archive for Media Art in Amsterdam as part of 'Unfold', a project that investigates re-interpretation as a strategy for the preservation and activation of media art works. It was financially supported by the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Mondriaan Fund. Produced by Studio Joost Rekveld Distributed by LIMA, Arie Biemondstraat 111, 1054 PD Amsterdam, The Netherlands www.li-ma.nl.
